Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

Every move is different, so we price each project individually rather than working from a one-size-fits-all rate. What it costs depends on the number of rooms involved, how far you're moving, and which services you need: packing, staging, relocating, auctioning, or all of it. The estimate is free. Tell us your starting and ending zip codes, roughly how many rooms are involved, and your target moving date, and we'll walk you through what your project would look like and what it would cost. Many of our clients also use our auction service to recoup part of the cost of the move.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Eastern North Carolina and we serve Eastern NC, the Triangle, and the Triad. If your move starts in our area, we can take it from there. We've moved hundreds of clients across North Carolina and around the country. Not sure whether you're in range? Give us a call or send a note and we'll tell you straight away.

How far in advance should I book?

Sooner is always better. The more lead time we have, the more thoroughly we can plan, and the easier the whole thing is on you and your family. If you know a move is coming in the next few months, that's a good time to reach out. That said, we know moves aren't always planned. A sudden health change, a room opening up in a preferred community, or a tight closing date can put you on a very short clock, and those are exactly the situations we're built for. If your timeline is measured in days rather than months, call us. Don't assume it's too late.

Do you travel out of state?

Yes. We've moved clients across North Carolina and across the United States. Our project managers will drive your rental truck to your destination, handle the unpacking, and oversee the move on the far end, so you're not left managing strangers in an unfamiliar city. Long-distance moves are quoted individually, so reach out with where you're starting and where you're headed.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes. Your move is covered by insurance and bonding, and we're glad to walk you through exactly what that covers before you commit to anything. If you need documentation for your own records, or for a community or facility that requires it, just ask and we'll send it over.

What is the process for auctioning items?

We start by walking the house with you and setting aside what isn't making the move. From there our auction team researches each item to understand what it's actually worth, photographs it, and lists it in an online auction, which puts your things in front of buyers not just in North Carolina but across the country. You don't have to manage any of it. The team handles the listing, the pickup, and the shipping. Most of our clients enjoy watching the bidding come in live online, and the proceeds often offset a meaningful share of the cost of the move.
